Product Introduction

The DVB series Roots vacuum pump is a positive‑displacement vacuum pump, also known as a mechanical booster pump, widely used for medium‑ and high‑vacuum generation.

  • • Large gas‑handling capacity: Excellent for pumping large gas volumes.
  • • Requires backing pump: Must operate in series with backing pumps such as rotary‑piston, liquid‑ring, rotary‑vane or dry vacuum pumps.
  • • Boost vacuum performance: Delivers higher pumping speed and better ultimate vacuum when assembled into a vacuum system.

Working Principle

The Roots vacuum pump features two symmetrical "8"-shaped rotors that rotate in opposite directions. Synchronized by gears, the rotors maintain extremely tight, non-contact clearances with each other and the pump casing.


Ultimate vacuum

The DVB series Roots vacuum pump suits high‑pumping‑speed applications within the vacuum range of 0.01 mbar to 30 mbar. It cannot run independently or start at atmospheric pressure and shall only be activated after a backing pump evacuates its inlet to a certain vacuum level. Common backing pumps include oil‑sealed, liquid‑ring and dry screw vacuum pumps. 2: Does DVB require special protection if liquid condensate is sucked into the pump?

The vertical gas‑flow design lowers rotor unbalance risk from incoming liquid. Avoid continuous large‑volume liquid ingestion for long‑term service life.

3: Can I upgrade the seal to zero‑leakage for corrosive or hazardous gas applications?
